Generazioni a confronto - Generations gap

IT - Argomento ricorrente di discussione tra generazioni differenti è internet e tutto ciò che esso porta con sé, parliamo dunque dei social, un’arma a doppio taglio, che è vista in modo completamente diverso dai giovani e dagli adulti.
Se i ragazzi da una parte si sono innamorati di questa realtà tecnologica, dall’altra parte troviamo i genitori che ritengono internet una rovina per i loro figli ed il loro futuro. Possiamo dunque elencare quali siano le facilitazioni e i vantaggi, magari non visibili agli occhi di tutti, che i giovani sanno trarre da questo progresso: 

📌 Un primo esempio da citare è sicuramente la comunicazione, al giorno d’oggi sappiamo che non tutti hanno l’opportunità di avere ogni persona cara vicina ma grazie ad internet hanno la possibilità di sentirle comunque tutti i giorni e di colmare quella mancanza causata dalla distanza.

📌 I social facilitano anche i rapporti, infatti è possibile mantenere dei legami che altrimenti si potrebbero sciogliere e permettono anche di dire cose che magari non si riuscirebbero a confessare.  

📌 Sul web si possono trovare anche molte opportunità in vari ambiti, per esempio in ambito lavorativo e sociale. Grazie ad internet è possibile svolgere numerosi lavori comodamente da casa ed entrare in contatto e conoscere persone provenienti da tutto il mondo. A parere di molti ciò è da considerare un arricchimento culturale.

📌 I social possono essere visti come un’occasione per fare economia, di fatto permettono di risparmiare sull’acquisto di prodotti che in negozio costerebbero di più, inoltre si ha anche la possibilità di vendere le proprie cose e quindi di trarre anche un profitto.

📌 Bisogna infine affermare che internet contiene moltissime informazioni che possono rivelarsi utili per gli scopi più svariati.

Quindi se da un lato abbiamo la famosa generazione zeta, che vede nei social solo opportunità, da cui sa trarre vantaggi e facilitare la propria quotidianità, dall’altra vediamo la generazione che la precede, il cui pensiero può essere riassunto con una semplice affermazione “Internet rovinerà i giovani”.

Gli adulti affermano che i social nuociono alla salute e che facciano sprecare tempo, da utilizzare per attività più proficue. Altra critica che muovono sempre nei confronti di questa realtà tecnologica è il fatidico rimando ai vecchi tempi, i momenti passati all’aria aperta invece che attaccati ad uno schermo, i tempi in cui secondo loro “si viveva davvero”. Accusano i social di essere la causa per cui i giovani si siano in qualche modo staccati dalla realtà, rifugiandosi in un mondo diverso da quello in cui vivono e rendendo internet una priorità rispetto alla loro vita al di fuori della realtà tecnologica.

La conclusione è dunque una, siamo due generazioni opposte, che viviamo in tempi completamente diversi, i difetti, è vero, sono parte dei social, ma gli adulti talvolta non si rendono conto di come anche la loro vita abbia tratto vantaggio e si sia facilitata grazie all’avvento dell’era digitale.

EN - One of the recurring topics of discussion between different generations is the Internet and everything it brings with it, so let's talk about social media, a double-edged sword, which is seen in a completely different way by young people and adults.

If the youth on the one hand fell in love with this technological reality, on the other hand we find parents who consider the internet a ruin for their children and their future. We can therefore list what are the facilities and advantages, perhaps not visible to everyone, that young people can take from this progress:

📌 One of the first examples to mention is certainly communication, nowadays we know that not everyone has the opportunity to have every loved one close but thanks to the internet they have the opportunity to hear from them every day anyway and to fill that lack caused by distance.

📌 Social media also facilitate relationships, in fact it is possible to maintain bonds that otherwise could be dissolved and also allow you to say things that maybe you would not be able to confess

📌 On the web you can also find many opportunities in various areas, for example in the work and social spheres. Thanks to the Internet many jobs can be done from the comfort of home and it is possible to get in touch and meet people from all over the world which, in the opinion of many, has to be considered a cultural enrichment.

📌 social media can be seen as an opportunity to save money, in fact they allow you to save on the purchase of products that in the store would cost more, moreover you also have the opportunity to sell your things and therefore also to make a profit of it.

Finally, it must be said that the internet contains a lot of information that can prove useful for the most varied purposes. So if on the one hand we have the famous zeta generation, which sees only opportunities in social media, from which it knows how to benefit and facilitate its daily life, on the other we see the generation that precedes it, whose thought can be summarised with a simple statement "The Internet will ruin young people". Adults say that social media harms health and it is a waste of time, to be used for more profitable activities. Another criticism that always moves towards this technological reality is the fateful reference to the old days, the moments spent in the open air instead of being attached to a screen, the times when according to them "we really lived".

They accuse social media of being the cause why young people have somehow detached themselves from reality, taking refuge in a world different from the one in which they live and making the internet a priority over their lives outside the technological reality.

The conclusion is therefore one, we are two opposite generations, we live in completely different times, the defects, it is true, are part of social media, but adults sometimes do not realise how their lives have also benefitted and been facilitated thanks to the advent of the digital age.
